Todd Brunson has also made a name for himself in the poker world. He took his own route to poker stardom, learning to play poker while away at college rather than learning the ropes from his dad. He started mainly as a cash-game player but since branching into tournaments has cashed several times and picked up a WSOP bracelet of his own.
The two will add their star power to the APT event in Macau along with other top professionals such as J.C. Tran, Name Le, Quinn Do, and APT Philippines winner David Saab.
The APT Macau is the second leg o the 2008 tour and has a $5,000 buy-in. It runs Aug. 27-31 and will have a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool. That means the winner is guaranteed at least $500,000.
Poker players who want to take in the event can also win their seats through online satellites. Poker sites such as Titan Poker, PartyPoker and PKR are all hosting tournaments for players to win a seat.
Doyle Brunson will also be in Macau for a book signing as well as playing in the tournament.
"His books, especially Super/System and Super/System II, are considered the most authoritative sources on playing and winning at poker," said a press release from the APT. "Fans and players will be able to meet him and get their copies personally signed at APT Macau."
