Poker event packs players into London park

PKR, a Poker in the Park sponsor, put together a schedule of tournaments with professional dealers through the weekend. All of the action at the tables was also televised on the Poker in the Park Jumbotron.

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott provided commentary for the final table of the Bluff Europe Championship event as well, to add even more of a taste of professional-quality poker to the tournaments.

Ulliott wasn't the only pro on hand for the event either. He took on the hosting duties for the tournament as well as poker instruction duties along with Neil Channing, Nik Persaud, Mark Goodwin, Paul Jackson, Tony Holden, Tom Sambrook and Liv Boeree.

The professionals spilled some of their poker secrets in the Poker Academy tent to an eager audience of poker fans, according to a press release from the event organizers.

"The event was also a huge success for the companies who descended to Leicester Square," the press release said. "While Cardoza Books and Squirrel Poker sold their wares to the masses, Poker Kings, Jackpot Joy and Aces Royal showed their latest online and mobile products, allowing players to enjoy their poker on the move or in the comfort of their own home."

The Fox Poker Club was also in attendance to get people signed up for a free membership to the club. The organization had just secured a license to become the first fully licensed poker venue in London.

"This event proved that the UK loves poker just as much as the Americans, but more importantly that it plays poker for fun and entertainment in a measured and responsible manner," said Michael Caselli, editor-in-chief of Bluff Europe, another sponsor of the event.
